About the Club

So Yo Trailblazers is a running club serving the areas of New Freedom, Shrewsbury, Stewartstown, and upper Baltimore County. The club promotes running and provides a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow runners and running partners, as well as belong to a social group with common interests. In addition to weekly runs, the club will organize other races and events throughout the year.

For more information about the club and our events please see our blog at blog.soyotrailblazers.com.   We're also on Facebook!  Members, please search "So Yo Trailblazers" and request to join!

Saturday Runs

The club meets every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. at the New Freedom Railroad Cafe: 117 N. Front St, New Freedom PA. Please join us in walking or running north on the Heritage Rail Trail, or south, which connects with the Northern Central Railroad Trail!

Speed Workouts

In May, we will resume meeting at the pavilion behind the Shrewsbury YMCA and Library for our great speed workouts!  The track is a 1/3 mile loop that provides for a smooth running surface.  Please join us at 6:30 on Wednesday evenings for a fun workout!

On Wednesday, June 3, the Trailblazers celebrated National Running Day (www.runningday.org) by participating in our speed workouts!  Fun was had by all, and we're looking forward to celebrating on a bigger scale next June 3!

So Yo "Couch to 5K" plan

If you are interested in starting a running program, please contact Erin at racechair@soyotrailblazers.com for information on going from the couch to your first 5K!

Our Winter Races, sponsored by Gold's Gym in Shrewsbury, The Hodle, Lotus on Main Day Spa, and Provident Bank, are completed. The Trailblazers wish to thank all participants and volunteers for making the series a success!
