Southern York and Northern Baltimore County’s running club is excited to host a winter race series to take place on the first Saturday of every month at 12 Noon. It’s not too early to make resolutions for 2009 – make running one of them!

January: Shrewsbury Gold's Gym Resolution Run (3 miles)
February: Lotus on Main's Really Cold Relay (2.1 miles each leg)
March: St. Patty's Beer Run (3 miles)
April: So Yo 5 miler (5 miles)

  • Distance: 3 to 5 miles*
  • 117 N Front St, New Freedom, PA 17349 (On the trail, near New Freedom Railroad Cafe and Paesano's)
  • When: First Saturdays of every month from
  • January to April at 12 Noon
  • Cost: $2 for members; $4 for non-members
  • Beverage and treat served after each race
  • Ribbons and prizes awarded at each race, including gift cards from our sponsors.

St. Patty's Beer Run

For the predicted time race, runners left the start whenever they wanted to, while leaving their watches behind.  All runners were due back at the Hodle at 1:00 pm.  The winners of this race were John Whitehead, who arrived only one second before one o’clock, and Cristin Murray, who ran to the finish a mere 11 seconds past the set arrival time!  Great pacing, John and Cristin!  Congratulations!
